FIREPLACE - MONTIGO see-thru, flush-face gas fireplace was installed. This highly efficient 52” unit generates up to 34,000 BTU's. An “on and off” function operation by remote control will be added and will be fully integrated in the home automation system.
TWO POUND SPRAY FOAM - CERTAINTEED CERTA SPRAY Closed Cell Foam. CertaSpray Closed Cell Foam provides thermal insulation for the interior of the home and reduces air infiltration through the building envelope.

PROTECTING THE DWELLERS' HEALTH: ENERGY RECOVERY VENTILATION SYSTEM (ERV) - Since the average American spends 80 to 90% of our time under a roof, one of Cleantech Homes' main goal at inception of the process of building one of the most advanced green homes in the US was to make absolutely sure that all products used in the construction of the home were healthy. Thus, all materials, components or mechanical devices used in this Cleantech home do not emit any VOC and formaldehyde fumes or any other airborne toxic substances and gases too often found in traditional building materials. We also took in consideration outside pollutants contained in the air including dust and allergens which can end up trapped in the house. To deal with this issue, our solution was to add a high efficiency ERV (Energy Recovery Ventilation system) that not only recycles the energy lost in the home but also filters and purifies the air inside, greatly reducing air and skin contamination risks and
